National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA)

The National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA) is a centre of excellence in education and training for theatre, film and television. NIDA offers undergraduate courses in Acting, Costume, Design for Performance, Properties and Objects, Staging, and Technical Theatre and Stage Management, and postgraduate courses in Directing and Writing for Performance.

While best known for its Acting course, NIDA also offers courses with career prospects in design, stage management, event management, lighting, sound, staging, costume making, properties and special effects, as well as directing and writing for performance.

Graduates go on to work in areas as diverse and interesting as theatre, film, television, opera, dance, production management, events management and arts administration. NIDA graduates are in great demand and form the backbone of Australia's arts and entertainment industry with many going on to achieve international success.
