Certificate IV trial (concluded 31 December 2016)
Please note: The Certificate IV Trial ceased on 31 December 2016.
The Certificate IV trial allowed certain eligible students, in selected subsidised Certificate IV qualifications to access a VET FEE-HELP loan.
Students who accessed the trial for VET FEE-HELP Certificate IV qualifications will not be eligible for any VET FEE-HELP transitional provisions in 2017 under the opt-in arrangements.
The trial was established to test the effect of the availability of HELP loans for selected Certificate IV qualifications on enrolments, completions and pathways to further education. The certificate IV qualifications included in the trial were selected by the state and territory governments participating in the trial. The states that participated in the trial were Queensland, South Australia, Western Australia, Victoria and New South Wales.
ACT, NT and TAS did not participate in the trial.
Only those VET units of study that were commenced, and ended (as determined by the VET provider at time of enrolment) before 31 December 2016, were eligible to be included in the Trial. This means that a student who has accessed VET FEE-HELP for a Certificate IV that was included in the Certificate IV trial will not be entitled to access any further VET FEE-HELP assistance for any remaining units that end after 31 December 2016.
