If you need to change or correct your electronic Commonwealth Assistance Form (eCAF) you will need to contact your higher education provider for assistance. Timeframes apply.

What if there is an error on my eCAF?

If there is incorrect information on your eCAF, you should try to correct it before the census date by contacting your provider.

If you don’t realise your error until after the census date, there is a 6-week period after the census date where you can correct your error.

After this 6-week period, there are no opportunities to make further corrections.

Please note

You must give your provider your:

  • Tax file number (TFN)
  • Unique Student Identifier (USI)
  • name
  • date of birth
  • address.

Your details must match the information held with the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) and the USI Registry System. If the details in your application don’t match, you won’t be able to access a HELP loan until you correct the error.

What if my circumstances change?

If you no longer want a Higher Education Loan Program (HELP) loan, you can cancel your eCAF and pay your fees upfront on or before the census date by contacting your provider.

What do I need to let my provider know about?

If your eligibility for a Commonwealth supported place (CSP) or HELP loan changes, you must contact your provider as soon as possible.
