The Research Training Program (RTP) scholarships are provided to universities by the Australian Government to support students undertaking postgraduate research degrees. RTP scholarships are available to both Australian and overseas students. Check your provider's website or ask their scholarship office for more information.

Commonwealth Teaching Scholarships support new undergraduate and postgraduate teaching students to meet the costs of their study in exchange for teaching in government schools or government-run early learning settings for a period of time after graduating from their degree.

For example

Ava is studying an undergraduate science degree and successfully applied for a ‘Women in STEM’ scholarship offered by her higher education provider.

Ava will receive $9,000 over the course of her three-year bachelor’s degree, paid in yearly instalments, to help her pay for her study expenses.

Ava can use this scholarship money to pay her tuition fees, buy textbooks or a laptop, or help with her living expenses.
