The Tertiary Access Payment is a means-tested payment to regional or remote school leavers who are relocating for tertiary study at an education provider located at least 90 minutes by public transport from their family home.

A payment of either $3,000 or $5,000 is available depending on where their family home is located.

The one-off payment can help students to pay for items such as rent, travel expenses, food or study supplies once they have moved.

Applications close on 31 December 2025.
